Wow, you remember I blogged about how I had discovered the Exlir of Life?
I am such a huge fan of Maca and even though I hated the taste a few weeks ago, I have to be honest and say, it really is growing on me now.
For those of you not in the know, Maca root has been used in Peru for energy and endurance for over 2,000 years. It has high levels of manganese, phosphrous and iron, which all aid enery, metabolism and reduce tiredness.
I suffer from all sorts of metabolic issues as I have an underactive thyroid and PCOS which are both hormone disorders. So much so, my endocrinologist has said that my metabolism is that of a 70 year old (hello, I am 37!) and one of the key reasons why I struggle to lose weight despite being active and eating relatively well.
After blogging about my findings, Organic Burst got in touch with me to see if I would like to host a competition. Of course, being such a huge fan, I would love for some of my readers to discover this "super food" supplement. It is organic and vegan so suitable for everyone.
I have five bottles of this wonderstuff to give away, just fill in the entry form below and leave a comment to let me know how I can contact you, should you be a lucky winner!

I'm on HRT after a hysterectomy at the age of 31 so I'm always looking for recommended products to help with the aftereffects of that.
ReplyDeleteI have an under active thyroid too, as well as PCOS and type II diabetes, so I have to be very careful about what supplements I take, but this looks like it would do me the world of good.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it interesting that we both have the same...I am not diabetes yet, but my endocrinologist has said that it often goes hand in hand with PCOS and thyroid issues. I was nervous about taking this so started on a low dose, but can honestly say that the improvement is massive. I am seeing my endocri at the end of the month so interested to see what the latest results will show. I love the fact it is totally natural and organic....
ReplyDeletethanks for entering! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOther than folic acid I'm not taking anything at the moment.
ReplyDeleteKelp - I think my thyroid tends towards underactive, but won't stay there long enough to show up on 2 consecutive blood tests.
ReplyDeleteI suffer from PCOS and used to take herbal remedies to help but I am not currently taking any due to breastfeeding. Taking multivitamins for breastfeeding and folic acid x
ReplyDeleteI am afraid I am a bit of a sceptic and don't take anything. When pregnant I took folic acid and a multivitamin.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting! I have only recently started to take supplements - Maca which is definitely my exlir of life and evening primrose oil for hormones. Have seen a big improvement in my mood swings since taking that. I don't take anything else as I believe a well balanced and varied diet should give you all the nutrition you need!
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering!
Good Luck x
do you have problems with thyroid as well??? I'm curious as so many people seem to suffer from both....
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering!
I was border line for years then pregnancy totally tipped it into the massively underactive category (all those hormones). There is nothing worse than being borderline, you get all of the symptoms, but doctors won't prescribe a cure. (that was my experience anyway). You should try the Maca as it has a high dose of iodine perfect for underactive thyroid. That's why I was slow to try in case it affected my overall balance. Hope you get sorted!
ReplyDeleteI take none at the moment but really should do as my energy levels are pants!
ReplyDeleteNo thyroid problems that I am aware of. Did develop Gestational diabetes during pregnancy and the diabetic team said that a lot of women who have PCOS develop it. Thanks for the fab competition.
ReplyDeleteI take none at the moment
ReplyDeletein the past i have taken herbal tablets like fenugreek (when breastfeeding) also tried the green tea, fennel to help with weight loss, but they didnt work, but could have been down to being hypo, was diagnosed in sept and thankfully only took until jan to get my medication stable. still doesnt stop the tiredness and being in a foul mood if i dont get my daily morning nap. recently been told i could also have fibro. this sounds like the kiddy to help.
