A day out at the Savoy

Did you know that 67% of women have difficulty finding the time or money to treat themselves???  I am pleased to say I am NOT in that category as I strongly believe that as important my kids and HAW are, I too am also important, I need treats, I need spoiling and if I want to have a long soak in the bath with a good book to chill out, then I am going to make the time to do so!

Treating yourself doesn't have to cost a penny, one of my biggest treats is when HAW takes the kids out for the afternoon and I can do as I please.  Snooze, blog, pamper, usually all three.  I think that everyone needs headspace and I am very good at making the time for some "me" time.

I think a lot of mums fall into the trap of putting everyone else first and then almost become a martyr to the cause....."oh I am so tired, I couldn't be bothered to put make up on" or "I put everyone first, I don't have time to treat myself". "Go to the cinema, are you kidding me, I don't have time".

You get my drift.

Anyway, last week I was invited to the Savoy for afternoon tea......

The objective was to find out more about Boots Treat Street.  Now, I have to be honest here and say that I was vaguely aware of what it was, but not actually 100% sure what it actually was.   We were treated to a make over by the wonderful No7 make up artist Brenda, who gave me a very smoky eyed look.  I LOVED it but HAW thought I looked like a groupie!

Boots treat street is an amazing opportunity for us mums to treat ourselves, Boots have signed up over 60 partners which include some of my favourites such as The White Company, Joules, Boden and Monsoon.   The way it works is simple, you sign your advantage card up to treat street and then just shop online in the usual way.  For every £1 you spend you get 1 point.

To me it is a no brainer, if you use any of these companies online anyway then you may as well go via Boots Treat Street and rack up some extra points.  Because as you know my friends, points equal prizes!!!

There are also offers that are exclusive to treat street that can be seen here Summer Deal Festival these will run until the 3rd July but keep your eye on the site as it is updated regularly.

Happy Shopping!

Boots Treat Street

Shhh....I want to let you all in on a little secret. Have you heard about Boots treat Street? Nope, neither had I until I attended the luxurious surroundings of the Savoy Hotel yesterday for an afternoon of loveliness and pampering.....

Here's a sneak preview vlog, I will blogging in more detail later on today so please make sure you come back to find out what HAW said about my rock chick make-over, what the newly refurbished Savoy was *really* like and more importantly, how you can earn boots points just by shopping via Boots Treat Street.

Samsung Eco Bubble Washing Machine - a review, week 1

As regular readers of my blog will know, I was lucky enough to win a Samsung Eco Bubble Washing Machine from the lovely people at Appliances Online who have a wonderful following on both facebook and twitter and the *best* social media guy in the form of Yossi.  He truly is a legend!!  It's worth following them just for his interaction alone!

They are hosting a competition on their facebook page at the moment to win a dishwasher, head on over to their Facebook Page to enter, all you have to do is upload a video of what you would rather be doing (told you it was easy peasy!)

So, without further ado....here's a video entry for our first week with "Bubbles"

Frock it....week 7

Firstly, I can't believe that we are up to week 7 of the lovely linky hosted by Mid Thirties Life as I seem to have missed lots of weeks.  For me this is the best linky ever as it's quick, it's interesting and it's visual.

This was such an easy choice for me this week, it is the beautiful Lily Allen in her wedding dress.  She has had a heartbreaking year but to announce on her wedding day that she is expecting again is just magical.

Her dress is a real classic, it has a beautiful, timless, vintage quality and was designed by the french designer Delphine Manivet.  Lily looks amazing and her headdress with the sort of Princess Leia buns on the side is also beautiful.

picture taken from the Daily Mail Website

Lily also announced that she is more than 12 weeks pregnant and you can see a hint of a bump under her dress.  I would like to wish her and Sam a very happy, loving and healthy future together.

We need your help!!!

Last night HAW and I tried to book a family holiday.  We spent hours scouring the net for the perfect holiday, but guess what?  We couldn't find what we were looking for!  We have been lucky enough to go to some amazing places over the years and by far our best ever family holiday was Bandos Island in the Maldives in 2008, it totally ticked all of our boxes as had amazing diving, great food, excellent kids club and total relaxation.....so much so, we came back with more than a suntan (Hello Pixie ;-)

I don't think our requirements are that bad, but we have conflicting interests....eg our idea of holiday hell is organised "happy clappy" around a pool but if you want a kids club then this is par for the course.  We HATE hotels but love villas (yet villas on a *shudder* complex are all over £10k).  We LOVE eating out in the evenings and finding new restaurants rather than same old same old of an all inclusive.  However, if someone can recommend an excellent AIO then we would go for that.  I appreciate that not all AIO are the same.

So this is what we want

1) Hot weather, on a beach
2) Supervised kids club so we can have a few hours to chill each day
3) Lovely spacious accomodation
4) No happy clappy adult entertainment in the evening
5) Flexibility on dining options
6) Needs to be in last 2 weeks of August into Sept is fine

That's it!! Not too difficult is it???

So why can't I find a holiday to cater for this?!

It's ALL about the Karma Baby..........

As regular readers of my blog will know, I massively believe in karma, if you lead a good, true and honest life, helping others whenever possible, smiling at the world well, you know what, the world smiles back!

Treat people as you wish to be treated and all that.............

Today the most AMAZING thing happened, a while ago I put in a plea for a new washing machine to Appliances Online and Samsung for a new Eco Bubble washing machine.  You can read my plea Here.

Well around an hour ago, I got a call from the wonderful Yossi to say that my plea had won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only that, it would be delievered tomorrow.

Here's my vlog as a tribute to Yossi, Appliances Online and of course Samsung.  I am super duper excited and will be vlogging about the amazing Eco Bubble which I have been looking at longingly since it launched.

The great thing is though, that Appliances Online didn't only pick me.......They had 3 (yes, really 3!) winners.

They are a great example of a company using social media in a positive way and for that, I salute you and thank you from the bottom of my heart!   You really do care about your customers and have made me laugh, cry and feel very humbled today.

Thank you!

Peace and Love
