If you are looking for a refreshing summer drink that is non alcoholic but utterly delicious then you couldn't go far wrong with home made Rose Lemonade. I made it for the first time this week after trying the utterly gorgeous fentimans rose lemonade at a national trust property but at over £2 a bottle, I wanted to see if I could replicate this at home.
First, you need to make a basic homemade lemonade. If you haven't tried this before, then I can HIGHLY recommend as it is just so refreshing and scrumptious!
Home Made Lemonade:
You will need:
The juice of 6 lemons
2 pints of water (I always use soda water to get the "fizz" but it is also lovely with still water)
4-6oz caster sugar (start of with 4oz and add as necessary until you get "your" acquired taste. )
Mix all the ingredients together in a large pitcher until the sugar has dissolved. You can then chill in the fridge and serve with lots of ice when ready! If you are not going for the rose version, then slice a few lemons and garnish with mint.
To make this into Rose Lemonade, all you need to do is add rose water. You can buy this in the international section of your supermarket but I get mine from the Asian food market, a huge bottle for less than £2.
I added 3 teaspoons to my pitcher which gave me the most refreshing, delicious drink. It really is quite a different taste and is utterly delicious. Serve over ice with mint to garnish,
Let me know how you get on!
Peace and Love
